London Update

(August 14, 2006)

All London programs have concluded successfully and scheduled flights have returned home.

(August 11, 2006)

Airline travel out of London to the US is functioning and some of our students are on their way home. We are continuing to monitor the flight status for our students and will provide updates as needed.

(August 10, 2006)

While most summer study abroad programs have concluded, any remaining programs are scheduled to return home soon.

We have communicated with all of the faculty and staff leading programs currently abroad to reassure them that we are monitoring the developing situation closely.

Programs scheduled to depart particularly out of London within the next few days will experience delays and extensive security screening. However, to our knowledge, no flights impacting our programs have been cancelled at this time. Family or friends planning to meet their students should track the flight status closely.

Gatwick and Heathrow Airports in London have issued this press statement regarding extra security restrictions for flights out of London.

The Department of Homeland Security has posted this statement regarding baggage restrictions for US domestic flights.

We anticipate that all students and programs will return home with minimal impacts to travel arrangements. If you or your students have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to be in touch with us. The office number for regular business hours is 517-353-8920. After-hours support is available through DPPS' hotline at 517-353-3784.
